go outside

It's not everyday that you see two young hollywood starlets take part in a music video for a relatively unknown indie band - but the today the day has arrived. In the music video for the Cult's 'Go Outside' Dave Franco (younger brother of James Franco, currently starring in 127 hours) plays a character obsessed with 1960s Jean-Luc Godard films. His wildest dreams appear to come true when Brigitte Bardot (played by Emma Roberts) steps out of the Godard film 'Contempt', and the two of them embark on a romantic night out and about in Los Angeles. This is definitely a different concept for a music video, and even though the idea can seem a bit random and far-fetched, I think the dream-like qualities and themes that run throughout the video perfectly reflect the dreamy undertones of the song. And there's no denying that Emma and Dave make a gorgeous couple. What do you think?

danny roberts

A few weeks ago a friend introduced me to the work of Danny Roberts, a young artist and photographer and the man behind the blog Igor and Andre, which is well worth a visit. Not only does he sketch, paint and draw a wide variety of subject matter, including the top models of the moment and well known figures in popular culture, but he also frequently photographs the latest fashion collections, photographs which could also be classified as artworks in themselves. Danny Roberts is the perfect example of when art and fashion can combine and become utterly irresistible - definitely one to keep your eye on!

colour infusion

All the fashion tomes and bibles predict that Spring/Summer 2011 is going to be all about colour block; wearing bright one colour pieces, and not being afraid of the occasional clash. This can be quite a daunting concept for some, yet there a few ways to subtly and slowly incoperate this into your wardrobe, perhaps by brightening up a grey drab outfit with a neon orange purse.

Luckily Camilla Belle felt no need to subtly immerse herself in this new approach, and she decided to go full on colour block wearing Gucci at a pre-Grammy brunch. Granted, this look may not be for the faint-hearted, but I personally love this look, and think that she pulls it off with effortless class and style. Cleverly, she has kept accessories to a minimum, opted for a classic silhouette  and chosen  for colours that perfectly match her olive skin tone. It's a perfect combination of wrong that makes it so right!

Taylor Tomasi Hill

Taylor Tomasi Hill is my newly found style icon and fashion inspiration. As a self-confessed accessories addict, it is perhaps only fitting that Taylor Tomasi Hill is the style and accessories director for US Marie Claire. Tomasi Hill is especially known for her flame-red hair, chunky necklaces,  scarves and killer heels, which make her every outfit look unique and different. She often mixes feminine pieces with boyish or edgier items, and she lists Burberry trench coach, YSl heels and the Chanel 2.55 as her fashion staples. There are also rumours that has been appointed as the new fashion directors for Barney's New York, and I can only hope this is true!

21

Adele's new album 21 is without a doubt my favorite album of 2011 so far. An album of vocal-led songs, with touching and heartfelt lyrics sung by Adele's incredible voice, 21 is simply stunning.

It's difficult to choose my personal favorites but here are a few that are constantly on repeat...

Another one of my favourites is 'Rumour has it' but unfortunately that one cannot be found on youtube so you will have to find it elsewhere!

Enjoy!
